Peter Kazacos - Executive Chairman
Peter is one of the founders and Executive Chairman of Anittel. He has over 35 years experience in the IT and communications industries. In 1988 Peter founded KAZ and was instrumental in its growth, including its listing on the ASX in 2000 with a valuation of $60m and eventual sale to Telstra for a value of $333m. At the time Telstra acquired KAZ it had revenues in excess of $350m.
Peter brings with him a wealth of experience in the IT industry and growing IT services businesses. He brought together the founding shareholders to form Anittel in 2007 and is currently its Executive Chairman.
Peter is the Chairman of ASX listed company ASDM and a number of private companies, including Roses Only. He also sits on the following industry boards: Australian Information Industry Association, UNSW Centre of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Advisory Board and CSIRO ICS Sector Advisory Council.
Peter was the recipient of the inaugural Australian Entrepreneur of the Year 2001 award in the Technology, Communications, E-Commerce and Biotechnology category and was also inducted into the Hall of Fame for the 3rd Annual IT&T Awards in 2004 and the ARN Hall of Fame in 2007. He was the 2008 winner of the CSIRO Tony Benson iAward for Lifetime Achievement in the ICT industry.
Ilkka Tales - CEO and Director
Ilkka has over 18 years global and regional telecommunications experience having worked for telecommunication operators, a handset manufacturer, service providers and software vendors. He was previously CEO/Founder of Engin Ltd, Chairman of LookMobile, a board member of ACIF and has held senior positions at Philips Communications and Telstra.
Ilkka is currently Chairman of MoGeneration, Australia's leading iPhone application development team. He is also on the advisory board of a European business which is the largest independent mobile software vendor in Europe.
Ilkka has a Bachelor of Business degree, majoring in Accounting with a sub major in Law. He is a previous winner of the Australian Innovation Award.
Campbell E. Corfe - Non Executive Director
Campbell qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Australia and practiced as a Certified Public Accountant in America. He was a partner for 18 years with the global accounting firm of KMG Main Hurdman (now KPMG) in various postings in Australia, USA, Europe and Asia. Leading up to the merger with Peat Marwick, in which he was heavily engaged, he was the partner in charge of global operations for the US firm based in New York, responsible for all accounting and consulting services provided to the firm’s multi-national clients.
After leaving KMPG, he became Chief Operating Officer for the Ohio, USA based Hercules Engines for 2 years. Hercules was a successful “management buy out” of an old-line manufacturing business dealing with the US Army.
Campbell then returned to Australia and worked with a number of companies in the finance and insurance sector, including Amlink, Suncorp and Colonial State Bank.
Most recently, as CEO, he set up the US operations of the venture capital backed Australian mobile marketing company, 5th International, in San Francisco, USA. In this position, he has identified a number of emerging opportunities in the global mobile sector.
Campbell is a member of several boards, including 5th Finger and Youi Insurance. He brings to the board of Hostech a wealth of experience and strategic direction, both local and international.
Steve McAlister - Non Executive Director
Steve has over 20 years of experience in the United States and Australia working at a Senior Executive level with a number of leading IT services and systems businesses including Andataco, Gateway Computers, and Autodesk.
Steve was also the founder of Wizshop.com, a popular shopping engine used by internet service providers in the United States and the U.K. In addition to his role with Anittel, Steve is an Executive Director of Sales within Telstra. In his role Steve has accountability for all of Telstra Business’ Account Managed sales force on a national scale.
Alan Chalmers - Non Executive Director
Alan Chalmers is a lawyer with over 23 years experience providing legal services to a broad range of clients in the media, entertainment and telecommunications industries in Australia and overseas, in both the private and public sectors.
Mr. Chalmers has held senior legal positions at Freehills, Gadens Lawyers and, more recently, as principal of his own legal practice, MET Law. He played a key role in the major regulatory reforms of the converging media and telecommunications sectors in Australia over the decade of the 1990s, including membership of each of the government teams that drafted the Broadcasting Services Act 1992, the Radiocommunications Act 1992, and the Telecommunications Act 1997, plus the related Trade Practices Act 1974 amendments relating to competition and access for telecommunications services (together, the Communications Law). He was awarded the Public Service Medal for his role in these reforms.
Carlos Perez - COO and Director
Carlos has over 15 years experience in the telecommunications industry. Starting at Optus in 1994 in Finance and Special Projects his last role was Commercial Manager of the Marketing Division. Carlos then became International CFO for a group with eight telecommunication start up operations in eight different countries. In 2002, Carlos founded T3 Communications, a switchless landline provider focused on Australian SME customers. After three and a half years, T3 was sold to Pacific Internet five folding the original shareholders investment.
In 2008, Carlos founded 5Star Telecom, another switchless reseller of landline, mobile and data for SME customers. Hostech bought the assets of 5Star in December 2009 and Carlos became Director and COO of Hostech.
Carlos has degrees in Finance and Economics and an MBA from Indiana University in the US.
Matthew Costello - Corporate Strategy and Director
Matthew holds a Masters of Finance Management degree and is currently completing his MBA at MGSM. He is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors holding several board positions with small private companies including 5th Finger (5th International Group Pty Ltd).
As a founding member of 5th Finger, Matthew has worked over the last 9 years to help shape the mobile industry in Australia. After selling the Australian interests of 5th Finger to ninemsn (a joint venture involving PBL and Microsoft) in 2005, he worked with ninemsn as Mobile Sales Director to integrate mobile marketing and mobile advertising capabilities across the PBL media group.
Most recently, Matthew worked with the 5th Finger International team in the US as Director Strategy, putting in place a rollout and expansion plan to build on the success of the startup launch in early 2008.
Mr Justyn Stedwell– Company Secretary
Justyn Stedwell was appointed Company Secretary of Hostech in January 2007. Justyn has completed a Bachelor of Business and Commerce (Monash University) and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance (Chartered Secretaries Australia). Justyn is also the Company Secretary of ASX listed Solagran Limited.
