For Release 16th January 2013 Anittel Group Limited (ASX: ‘AYG’- ‘Anittel’ or ‘the Company’) is pleased to announce that it has completed the provisioning of its first commercial National Broadband Network (NBN) Service to Armidale Dumaresq Local Council in Regional NSW. The new service has been connected directly to the Armidale Digital Hub, which is a part of the Federal Government’s Digital Hubs Program. Armidale Dumaresq Mayor Jim Mahar stated, “Having an establishment that demonstrates the capabilities of the National Broadband Network is a true asset to the Armidale Dumaresq Community. The Armidale Digital Hub provides local residents with one of the first opportunities to experience this service and explore the benefits of the largest infrastructure project in Australia’s history.” The 2 year agreement was finalised late last year, enabling the NBN connection to go live in November. It is now been fully utilised by council staff. Through the Digital Hub Program, organisations and citizens in the area will also be able to connect to the NBN, expanding the benefits of the next generation network service to the wider community. Anittel Managing Director & Executive Chairman Peter Kazacos commented, “The NBN is a platform for economic growth in regional Australia. Armidale organisations will now be able to find new efficiencies through new online ‘cloud’ based services, enabling them to connect more effectively with their market opportunities."
